A Pennsylvania native with over two decades of radio experience, Rita does play by play for Gophers women’s basketball and hosts a weekend sport talk show on WCCO.  Although her talent and enthusiasm are quite evident, so is her over the top promotion and cheerleading that has come to characterize so many on the 830 dial.  She appears to have quickly melded in to the Mike Max/Dave Mona “never is heard a discouraging word” mentality regarding Gopher athletics. For that she has earned the “Homer” tag.

Thank goodness (due to graduation) we will not be hearing anymore screams of “Shoney hits another three”.
